Three strangers who share an obsession with true crime suddenly find themselves caught up in one. This show was an amazing surprise and a real gem.

The performances and chemistry between Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez was truly something special. The characters were very likeable and they each had their own unique qualities to them. The whole podcast side to the murder mystery was interesting and a lot of fun to see develop. The plot development and mystery was strong, with excellent cliff-hangers and brilliant cinematography. The plot twists were great, and the different themes and character depth from the different leads was surprisingly strong. This show was absolutely hilarious and had a fun and unique tone to it that makes it stand out from the crowd. The cameos and new characters introduced were great, adding interesting new suspects and dynamics to the characters relationships. The deaf representation and the episode completely dedicated to complete silence/lack of talking was great. The stakes were high, the reveal was satisfying. With an amazing and hilarious finale that set up season 2 in a strong way.

My only slight criticism was that some episodes were fairly heavy with the exposition and this could have been cut down slightly in parts.

Overall, Only Murders In The Building season 1 brings a fun and refreshing twist on the murder mystery, with outstanding and charming chemistry between the three leads and a gripping story that kept me laughing and entertained until the final frame.

Overall Score: 96/100.
