“Life is like sex. It’s not always good, but its always worth trying.”

Pamela Anderson

PLOT

"Follows the story of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's relationship, going back to their whirlwind romance that started with them marrying after only knowing each other for 96 hours in 1995" or "How to destroy a career in a couple of years".

SCRIPT

It starts as an easy show about a petty scandal which slowly evolves into something which is much deeper. What comes out is the fact that Pamela Anderson has sacrificied her career for a toxic partner and a misguided guy who just wanted payback. It isn't just about the sextape but also about its consequences. You'll feel bad for Pamela.

Not only that but other themes are analyzed and subverted well, like love and sexual exploitation.

It isn't a feminist show but one who points out the fact that we live in a corrupt society which disregards people feelings and needs.

This is why I think that this series is well written and the characters are marvellously fleshed out.

Script: 8/10

ACTING

With the script, this is the only reason why this is the only reason why this series is watchable. Lily James and Sebastian Stan deliver a remarkable performance by emboding two people who are way out of their comfort zone. It's incredible how they disappear in their characters. Especially Lily James who becomes Pamela Anderson to the point that it's hard to understand who is who.

Seth Rogen is good too but he plays his usual character. He brings more comedy to the show but he doesn't really stand out for his skills. The other actors are alright, just that.

Acting: 7/10

PHOTOGRAPHY

Lights tend to be flat, with a lack of shadows. Colours don't have a relevance. Overall is just tasteless. It doesn't leave you anything.

Photography: 5/10

EDITING

Some transitions are funny and make the show's pace faster. Unfortunately they became redundant and uninspired quickly and the experience devolve into a sluggish and boring collage of scenes.

Editing: 6/10

SPECIAL EFFECTS

There're just a few of them but the one which stands out is the one about Tommy's dick. The scene is hilarious and gross at the same time. Most people will find it revolting. In that scene is displayed how cheap the CGI is in this show.

Special Effects: 6/10

SOUNDTRACK

90's Pop music is put front and centre in thsi series. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's just ...meh. I liked it but they don't contribute to the plot or the characters that much. The instrumental part of it are forgettable.

Soundtrack: 6/10

COSTUMES

There isn't much to say about it. Only that there's a lot of nudity on display here. Nudity which isn't out of nowhere because, after all, this is a show about a sextape. It's just mediocre.

Costumes: 6/10

CONCLUSION

Script: 8/10

Acting: 7/10

Photography: 5/10

Editing: 6/10

Special Effects: 6/10

Costumes: 6/10
