"He's Got A Speaker For A Face All He Can Play Is 'Only Wanna Be With You' By Hootie And The Blowfish"

The Narrator

PLOT

"The Boys animated spin-off" or "There isn't another way to explain it ahhahah"

SCRIPT

It's an anthology and I think that works well. Each story is well written and everty character has an arch. All the stories are deeply disturbing, even though they're disguised as light and cheerful by their animation. But the last one is the episode which is more relevant and will let you know who really is Homelander. If you're a newcomer it serves well as an introduction to The Boys universe and its main character. Sure, there's an overreliance on gore and sexual explicit scenes and it isn't as entertaining as the main series but it's good. It surely leave you asking for more, or less if you don't like how dark comedy intertwines with the superhero's genre.

Script: 8/10

ACTING

Most of the time is good but sometimes it felt off, especially regarding normal actors because their voices are a bit off putting and I think that Anthony Starr isn't a good voice actor. I'm not saying that it's bad but I've expected more.

Acting: 6/10

PHOTOGRAPHY

Just acceptable but in terms of lights and colours isn't good, I would say that it's pretty stale overall. I've expected more to say the least.

Photography: 5/10

EDITING

Not much to say about it but the clashes between superheroes is well done. It's mostly underwhelming to be sincere.

Editing: 5/10

SPECIAL EFFECTS

The use of different animation styles makes each episode refreshing and interesting to watch. There're 8 styles which fits the story perfectly. Most of them are related to other well known series and I think that you won't have any trouble finding them out.

Special Effects: 8/10

SOUNDTRACK

It's acceptable but I've heard better, far better. The blend of instrumental and pop music is good but I find it repetitive.

Soundtrack: 6/10

COSTUMES

Like the series, here the superheroes suits are top notch. It's hard to say which is the best one. It isn't impressive because this is a superheroes show.

Costumes: 6/10

CONCLUSION

Script: 8/10

Acting: 6/10

Photography: 5/10

A bold animated series which can make you fall in love with The Boys universe or discard it.
