Catherine Tate's iconic character Nan hits the big screen as she goes on a wild road trip from London to Ireland with her grandson Jamie to make amends with her estranged sister Nell. This film was hilarious and a lot of fun.
The character background for her character was surprisingly strong and interesting. The film was absolutely hilarious, it had the same humour that I have come to expect with the Nan character, it was wild, outrageous and well written. Catherine Tate delivered a great performance. With a fun set up and good character conflict. There was a lot of funny scenes that you could just sit back and enjoy. The plot development was good, with a surprisingly heartwarming charm and moving final act.
There was some issues though. It was a fairly generic and predictable roadtrip movie. There was some corny and overused moments, and the plot was stretched a bit thin in parts.
Overall, The Nan movie is wild, outrageous and just a fun time at the movies. Balancing the humour with genuine heart and Catherine Tate delivers another fun outing as The Nan.
Overall Score: 84/100.
