Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga is easily the greatest Lego game I have ever played. The way they still manage to find a fun way to tell the original and prequel trilogies and perfectly work the sequels into that is just mind blowing. This also ends up being a big Clone Wars reunion as almost every prequel era character is voiced by their Clone Wars actor. It’s so weird but so fun to hear Matt Lanter, James Arnold Taylor, and more saying movie dialogue. Most of the other actors are really good at mimicking the vocals of the original actors, some of which made me question if it was the original person. I was super skeptical on the change from hearts to a life bar, but it really grew on me and I’m alright with it. I think my one main gripe is the character selection and the character selection menu. I really miss just holding Y and the whole list coming up. I like what they tried to do with ordering the characters by a handful of categories but it’s annoying that Original Leia and Sequel Leia are in different categories. She’s not the only one that gets divided to different groups and I miss just seeing all of the skins for one character in the same place. And getting around that system is a little annoying and difficult at times when trying to do stuff fast. But there also just feels like a lot of characters are missing. 380 seems like a big number but when you compare that to other Lego Star Wars games or even Marvel ones, that’s not too much bigger and they waste a lot of space on stupid skins and nonsense characters. Beyond that, there is so much to do after you beat the main story. There are so many planets to explore, some of which with multiple maps on them plus the space around it. On each planet there are so many collectibles that are fun and challenging with hilarious names and references, like the titles of the missions as well. They manage to make Tatooine, Jakku, and Pasaana feel different and unique, plus make all 3 of Tatooine’s maps feel special as well. I ran into a lot of bugs, which is normal for the first few weeks of a video game, thankfully only a couple were game breaking, the rest were just annoying. Sadly none of them were funny. 9/10. -Tyler.
